The month of November, 2013 is winding down to be put in the book of Archives. With the month starting out with “All Saints Day” on November 1st and “All Souls Day” on November 2nd the Church seems to have us all covered! Pretty inspiring, huh!
We then have the honor to celebrate November 11th which is Veterans Day! “Thanking” the brave men and women who have fought for the Freedom’s of this great country. November 11th is also our son’s birthday, Rick, who ironically is a “Veteran” and who has proudly served in Iraq and the Middle East, plus we cannot forget the birthday of our United States Marines on November 10th!
Then of course in Wisconsin we have the very popular Shot Gun/Rifle Deer Hunting Season which opens always on the Saturday before Thanksgiving and runs for 9 days.
We in Northeast Wisconsin have been experiencing some rather frigid temperatures for the Deer hunting season and in talking with some hunters it seems the deer “kill” count has been down. Lucky for the deer!
Winding November down is the great traditional holiday of Thanksgiving with numerous organizations to exemplify on the positive results of “Giving”! From soup kitchens and centers in our nations bigger cities to church/school kitchens and community centers in smaller cities & rural towns; many planning on some kind of “Giving” celebration for Thanksgiving.
November is National Adoption Month, and the month of November is also known as “The Gratitude Month”; really all a person has to do is think about all of the “Giving” people, whether male or female, young or old, whatever race or creed.
We truly live in an incredible country!
